Cirque Du Soleil Returns To Japan With A New Big Top Production

OVO
A teeming world of insects

Cirque du Soleil is thrilled to return to Japan with its critically-acclaimed and family-friendly big top production OVO with a 2014-2015 national tour that will include Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka and Sendai. Since its world premiere in Montreal, Canada in April 2009, OVO has visited more than 24 cities in Canada, United States, Mexico and Australia, delighting over 2,5 million spectators.

About the show
OVO, meaning egg in Portuguese, is a headlong rush into a colorful ecosystem teeming with life, where insects work, eat, crawl, flutter, play, fight and look for love in a non-stop riot of energy and movement.

When a mysterious egg appears in their midst, the insects are awestruck and intensely curious about this iconic object that represents the enigma and cycles of their lives. It is love at first sight when a gawky, quirky insect arrives in this bustling community and a fabulous ladybug catches his eye and the feeling is mutual.

The cast of OVO is comprised of 54 performing artists from 15 countries specializing in many acrobatic acts. One highlight of OVO is the stunning Flying Act in which a group of scarabs soar high above the stage, from both edges to the middle landing on a platform. This breathtaking act combines many circus disciplines: banquine, Russian swing and swinging chair.

The Creative Team behind the world of OVO is: Artistic Guides Guy Lalibert and Gilles Ste-Croix; Writer, Director and Choreographer Deborah Colker (first female director at Cirque du Soleil); Director of Creation Chantal Tremblay; Set and props Designer Gringo Cardia; Costume Designer Liz Vandal; Composer and Musical Director Berna Ceppas; Lighting Designer ric Champoux; Sound Designer Jonathan Deans and for the first time at Cirque du Soleil: Rigging and Acrobatic Equipment Designer Fred Grard; Acrobatic Performance Designer Philippe Aubertin; and Makeup Designer Julie Bgin.

Cirque du Soleil
From a group of 20 street performers at its beginnings in 1984, Cirque du Soleil is a major Qubec-based organization providing high-quality artistic entertainment. The company has 5,000 employees, including more than 1,300 artists from more than 50 different countries.

Cirque du Soleil has brought wonder and delight to more than 100 million spectators in 300 cities in over forty countries on six continents. Cirque du Soleil International Headquarters are in Montreal, Canada.

Los Angeles, Ventura, Orange, San Bernardino and San Diego County Pest Control Companies Scramble to Find New Ways to Control Gophers After Change in Federal Laws

The two most common burrowing pests found in Los Angeles are gophers and moles. Gophers are small rodents that live and burrow underground. Gophers are vegetarians primarily eating plants, roots and grass. Their constant digging and eating of the vegetation makes them the gardens worst enemy and a must to remove and control.

Moles are smaller and do not eat the vegetation. Their diet consists of the bugs and insects they find in the tunnel systems they create. Moles are part of the shrew family and are not rodents.

To know whether a San Diego property is being damaged by gophers or moles is mainly determined by the shape of the mounds observed and whether tunneling is seen from above ground. Gophers make kidney shaped mounds with a plugged hole keeping the tunnel sealed. Moles create volcano shaped mounds with a hole in the middle which is also plugged with dirt.

If there is a mole in the garden or grass, a raised ridge in the soil can be seen. This ridge is similar to the Bugs Bunny cartoon when Bugs would burrow in the dirt. Recalling the cartoon to remember when he tunneled in the dirt is raised up and follows the path of where he started and stopped. Moles make a similar ridge caused by their shallow tunneling forcing the dirt up and visible on the surface. Often times the pushed up dirt path goes along hard scape such as a driveway, large rock or sidewalk.

Gophers dig much deeper and their path cannot be detected. Gophers will only leave holes or mounds of dirt as evidence they exist. Both the holes and the mounds are always plugged with dirt. If mounds are observed it may be a gopher or a mole; however the raised ridge is only created by a mole.

Laws regulated by the US EPA have changed the procedures allowed to exterminate gophers, moles and other burrowing pests. The new laws under the Obama administration restrict the use of aluminum phosphide which has been the main control product for decades. According to the Ventura Star in an article title "Pest control gets tougher after EPA rule change" dated May 8th, 2010, the law was passed across the United States, including Ventura, CA, after the product was blamed for the death of two young children in Utah.

Trapping and Carbon Monoxide have proven to be both safe and effective for the eradication of gophers and other burrowing pests. Rodent Guys of Southern California have adopted these methods into their removal process.

Trapping gophers and moles in Riverside has been around for a long time. The art of trapping is more laborious than poison methods but has little chance of affecting other animals or a threat to humans. Carbon monoxide gas injection into the tunnels works by pushing out the available oxygen and suffocating the pest. Used properly, carbon monoxide is safe and effective gopher control.

Rodent Guys is a family owned small pest control business based out of La Verne, CA. Owner Nick Nielsen is a licensed pest control operator whose whole business is dedicated to burrowing animal control and removal with limited use of poisons throughout Southern California.

Paragon Cafe West Wyalong Coffee Spot Responds to a Recent Latte-Art Competition

A current article in the Sunshine Coast Daily highlights the latest latte-art competition in Mooloolaba, winning the attention of Paragon Cafe West Wyalong beloved diner. The report announces the first place winner of the competition, Husk and Honey Cafe's barista Elliot Gwynne for his perfected ability to create a rich and smooth work of art. The article notes the barista has "honed his skills and crafted the knack of creating pleasing art atop his lattes."

His creativity is recognized at the latte-art competition and the Paragon Cafe West Wyalong coffee spot comments on his approach to an unconventional design. "Our staff believes coffee is art, which is why we also train our baristas to go above and beyond the exceptional taste of espresso," they said. "Our baristas decorate drinks with impressive latte art, providing a unique spin on the traditional drink."

Elliot Gwynne continues to confess that the secret is in the milk and ample practice, allowing quality latte art to undergo judgment in the three main areas: difficulty, symmetry and contrast of the cream and crema. "It's a combination of the perfect espresso and well-textured milk," he said. "But it all comes down to how much you have practiced pouring."

The baristas at the Paragon Cafe could not agree more. The coffee spot responds to his sentiments by describing the coffee they rely on. "Our loyal customers enjoy the Australian-born coffee because of the smooth-tasting varieties that are available through Oasis Griffiths Coffee," they said. "The distribution company uses a roasting technique to ensure that the original flavors are prominent in the coffee. Hand-crafted coffee is all about utilizing the roasted flavor without diminishing the natural smooth taste. Oasis Griffiths is ideal because they create specialty blends and roasts consumers love."

Husk and Honey's praised barista continues to comment on how he perfected his skill, which became evident as he took home the first place price along with the Good Bean Espresso Bar barista Naomi Marvel at the latte-art competition. "It was a combination of two traditional designs - the hanging heart and the rosetta. The owner of Husk and Honey Tashi Collins remarks on how quality latte-art can enhance the drinker's experience by noting, "People get so excited about the patterns. They absolutely love it; you can see it on their face when you take it to the table."

The cafe in West Wyalong also comments on the importance of invested baristas. "The baristas here truly have an enriched love for coffee," she said. "Not only do they make beautiful latte-art designs, but they manage to demonstrate strategy and efficiency that keeps our customers happy and business moving. When you set yourself apart because of the small details like latte-art, you have to know how to manage a busy rush. They are passionate about providing exceptional coffee beverages to the community," said Paragon Cafe West Wyalong diner.

ABOUT:

Paragon Cafe West Wyalong has served locals through outstanding food and drink services. The cafe has remained on the main street for more than 70 years, offering a nostalgic experience with juke boxes and 1970s diner interior. The cafe invites people to try the health-conscious, delectable foods and the signature specialty coffee.

ModelLauncher.com Has First Ever Editorial Style Photo Shoot with Casey D’Carrion

Leading-edge contest based modeling website, Model Launcher LLC. (http://modellauncher.com/), has announced Casey DCarrion of Dunbar, Pennsylvania as an official member of the Model Launcher Winners Circle. Casey is the second non-winner of a contest that has been added to the Winners Circle. Model Launcher executives were going through contest submission photos when they spotted Caseys submission shot. She wasnt able to receive enough of a popular public vote to push her to the top, but fortunately enough the Model Launcher team took notice and approached Casey to participate in a new project idea Model Launcher was developing for editorial style shoots. Casey received Model Launchers first ever editorial shoot with John Fisher, exclusively featuring clothing from popular fashion brand Guess, a trip to Miami, and publicity support from Beautiful Planning Marketing & PR, also known as BPMPR, to help her kick off her modeling career.

At the time we had been thinking of the concept of having editorial style shoots for a while, but were still playing with the idea. begins CEO and founder of Model Launcher, Mansfield Staniford. We thought of using past winners, but then we saw Caseys submission photo and instantly knew she would be perfect for our editorial shoot. There was something in her that just clicked with the camera, and we couldnt let go of it. We wanted to move some time in between contest auditions and decided to hand pick Casey to test out the new shoot format.

Model Launcher.com is a competition based website that offers aspiring models, both male and female from ages 13 and up, a platform to be discovered through various online themed modeling contests. Every contest on the website is powered by public voting, and the contestants are encouraged to share their voting links through assorted popular social media networks such as Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Pinterest and so on in order to increase their chances at winning. This was the first editorial style photo shoot for Model Launcher, but definitely not the last. They plan to continue to partner with other major fashion labels to offer other contestants in the Model Launcher community the same opportunity at an editorial style photo shoot featuring the exclusive brands.

Its still hard to believe that despite not winning a contest I still received this unbelievable opportunity with Model Launcher, begins the newest member of the Model Launcher Winners Circle, Casey DCarrion. Im really proud to be a non-winning team member alongside Elizabeth Bujans. Because of these new editorial style photo shoots, non-winners like me still have the opportunity to travel to Miami for a professional photo shoot. The entire experience was incredible! I loved the clothing we used, and John Fisher really helped me loosen up in front of the camera to get some great shots.

Casey remembers looking at the Victorias Secret Angels in the catalogs when she was younger, and being mesmerized by their beauty. She was instantly inspired by them and decided to pursue her dreams of modeling since then. Now, Casey is the proud mother to a beautiful, lively two year old boy named Niko, and works as a hairstylist at the Nemacolin Woodlands Resort and Spa while still pursuing a career in modeling. She brought her son with her to Miami, and stayed with family friends in Boynton Beach, just north of the Magic City. After enjoying the sights that came along with her photo shoot, Casey also enjoyed the natural views of the Green Cay Nature Center and Wetlands in Boynton Beach with her son.

Previous Model Launcher winners have been featured in various news and media placements such as CNBC.com, Examiner.com and many more. Brandi Vicks of Model Launcher also appeared as a model on Bravos hit reality show, Project Runway. Previous teen winner Alexandra Romanescu was also honored as a Style Winner for Teen Model Magazine. The online modeling competition website has opened their site to unique partnership and advertisement opportunities for various businesses such as fashion brands, hair and beauty product companies, photographers, modeling agencies, etc. These businesses can choose from many different advertising packages offered by Model Launcher to fit the many distinctive needs of each company. Previous businesses that have recently partnered with Model Launcher include womens apparel designer Dominique Auxilly, London based womens wear and accessory brand Fabryan, and automotive design company Trans American Muscle, to name a few.
