Imperial War Museum to Reopen with a Bang

London's Imperial War Museum in Waterloo has been closed since January for a major GBP135 million redevelopment but it will reopen with a bang on June 29th when the prime attraction will be a new family exhibition, Horrible Histories: Spies, based on the popular children's books by Terry Deary.

The museum's new look will also include a new programme of contemporary art and photography and a rehang of the museum's art collection, while further refurbishment will ensure the museum's First World War galleries are ready for the centenary of the conflict in August 2014. The Spies exhibition will immerse visitors in the eye-opening world of Second World War espionage, including codes and ciphers, disguises, camouflage, forgeries and gadgets.
